Millie Mattered Memorial Walk
The Gonzales Drug Epidemic Walk hosted by Millie Mattered Overdose and Addiction Advocacy will be held Sunday April 13th at 2pm at the Jambalaya Park.
This event will have Free Narcan and Fentanyl Test Strips, Free Food, Free Cotton Candy, and Free snowballs from some amazing local sponsors, and tons of local and state wide resources.
Come join us in carrying the banners of those lost to the Drug Epidemic.
We also still have a few spots available for resource tables. We are looking for any and ALL organization that directly works with or help a person in active addiction, a person in or seeking recovery, people experiencing homelessness, families who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to drugs, those raising family members due to addiction, those who help rebuild the individuals life after addiction and those who educate the youth
You don't want to miss this powerful event! This is our final year hosting this walk in Gonzales and we would love for the community to show up in full force!

1st Inaugural Easter Fest
This free event is open to the public and will offer a festive and welcoming environment for families throughout Ascension Parish. Designed to foster community connection and celebration, Easter Fest 2025 will feature a wide range of activities for children and families of all ages.
Event Highlights Include:
Easter Egg Hunts for all age groups, including a Parent & Teen Prize Hunt
Face painting, sack races, and lawn games
Petting zoo and onsite pet adoptions through Rescue Alliance
Cotton candy, snow cones, snacks, and local food vendors
Prize giveaways and community resource booths
“This event is a celebration of community, joy, and support,” said Danyell Henriques, Director of Heaven’s Care. “We’re grateful for the support of Mayor Riley and our partners who believe in creating meaningful experiences for families while promoting care for those in need.”
Mayor Timothy Riley will be in attendance, demonstrating his continued commitment to community engagement and the power of public-private partnerships. Haven of Ascension, a wellness and retreat center rooted in personal development and community connection, is proud to host the event.


Gonzales Garden Club Plant and Bake Sale
The Gonzales Garden Club is hosting their annual Plant and Bake Sale at Gonzales City Hall on April 11th. Proceeds help support the club in maintaining garden beds at Jambalaya Park and Kidz Kove.

The Parade will start on Irma Boulevard, travel up Cornerview Road to Burnside Avenue, then down Burnside Avenue to Highway 30.

Join the City of Gonzales and the Gonzales Garden Club on Friday, January 17th at 10:00 AM at Gonzales City Hall for our annual Tree Planting Ceremony in honor of the 57th Arbor Day Celebration.
The City of Gonzales is dedicated to increasing the tree canopy in our city, which is one of the goals identified in our Climate Action Plan.
